Video demos
Sometimes a picture paints a thousand words. Let us walk you through the features of the Black Box ToolKit with some of our YouTube videos.

Where possible you should select HD in YouTube and play the video full screen.

To take full advantage turn up your speakers as the videos are narrated to explain what is being shown. To watch, click on the thumbnail.

Why you might not be carrying out the experiment you think you are!
This video shows three common sources of timing error and how the Black Box ToolKit can help you circumvent them to improve your ability replicate and be confident in your results.

As well as showing you typical causes of timing error and their effect we suggest various search phrases you might want to Google to find out more.

Visual Stimulus-Response testing
This video shows how to test the timing of a simple Visual-Stimulus Response paradigm running on a standard experiment generator using a Black Box ToolKit v2.

White marker blocks superimposed on images are used to trigger the BBTK to make a response at a known RT. In this case responses are fed into the computer running the experiment generator using an Active Swtich Closure lead. That is, the BBTK closes a key as though it has been pressed by a human. Alternatively responses could be made by the BBTK Robotic Key Actuator (RKA) or a TTL signal could be sent to another piece of equipment such as an EEG machine to event mark. TTL signals can also be fed into the BBTK from sources such as MRI machines and BBTK Microphones can also be used to monitor and timestamp sounds.

This video illustrates how easy the software is to use and shows the DSCAR wizard in use as well as data analysis after the run. Watch >>

Testing an Android Tablet or iPad with the BBTK Robotic Key Actuator
This video shows how the timing accuracy of a tablet or phone with a capacitive screen can be tested using the BBTK Robotic Key Actuator (RKA). Note in the video a preproduction prototype RKA is shown.

This video illustrates how easy the RKA is to use and shows the DSCAR wizard in use as well as data analysis after the run. Watch >>
